Clouds gathering! A storm brewing! This is always a sign that some epic photographs are waiting to be taken. Walking the shore at Midmar Dam, there was something truly gripping about the storminess of the clouds, the swaying yachts on the water, and the deep red clay of the shore. This all made for some beautiful, punchy shots.

On my recent trip to Howick to celebrate my grandparents 60th anniversary I spent an evening at Midmar Dam. I was very lucky on this particular evening to have such splendid clouds. It was a gloomy evening, but there was just enough sunlight to accentuate the redness of the clay on the shoreline.
