Jodhpur is nicknamed the "blue city" because of the many blue houses that lie at the foot of the Mehrangarh Fort. Originally these houses differentiated the Brahmin people from the all the other casts of Jodhpur, but after a while everyone else got in on the act and started to paint their houses as well, resulting in a sea of beautiful blue shades.
Wondering down the alleyways of Jaipur there are so many different street cuisines to choose from. I must admit, I wasn't brave enough to try the street food of Rajasthan. It all looked so delicious, but the possibility of Delhi Belly was enough to keep me away.
This design of archways is very common in northern parts of India, especially in Rajasthan, but this particular hall, know as the Hall of public audiences (Diwan I Am) in the Agra Fort is especially beautiful.
Despite his blank expression this man was actually very friendly. I passed him on a rural, dusty road in the small Indian town of Kumbhalgarh. After he allowed me to take his photo he removed the blanket from his chest, and proceeded to show me all the jewellery hanging round his neck. He was so proud of his attire.
